Merry Christmas From Us to You...

This year has has been such an amazing adventure I have been so excited to branch out and meet so many of you and share in your exciting moments.  New arrivals and new beginnings - and lots of families!
Thank-you for inviting me in and entrusting me with capturing those special times!

The year is quickly winding down and although my blog may slow over the next week or two - I (as will you I am sure!) will be busy celebrating Christmas and visiting family and friends!  All this so that we can be refreshed and geared up to dive into a new year!

( I have learned this year that to get that great family photo with everyone it...I just might have to hire a photographer lol) But regardless here is our card from us to you...

We are so grateful for all of the people; friends, family and fellow bloggers and clients that journey with us in the day to day - up and down and that have been such a great encouragement and support!  Thank you :)

Have a Very Merry Christmas....

Tara and Co.

I was so excited to do this shoot and to try out some new lighting techniques I have been learning as of late. And of course I had some beautiful and handsome subjects to work with - Tara and her two little guys.

Here are a few of my favourites...

Santa Photos...

On Thursday night we had our community lightup.  Such a neat event, they have a parade of floats lit entirely by christmas lights and various organizations host family friendly events.  The big guy in red even graced our little town and came in on the top of one of the fire engines.
I wish I could have snapped a few photos of all the festivities but my camera was getting ready for a much bigger job - Santa Photos!!

After the parade, parents and kiddos lined up for their chance to meet Santa.  Logistically I found out VERY quickly this is not a one person job.  Poor Santa may get buried in a dog pile if photographers do not bring along crowd control. lol
The chaos did subside as Santa's wife stepped in and started looking after the registration process for me.
(As a side note there was supposed to be someone there to help me out in this area but they got held up somewhere along the way) So a big hurray to Santa's wife!!

I would love to share all the cute photos of all the adorable children but I did not want to complicate the proceedings with having people sign photo releases so I will just show you the one with my own chicklens.

The C Family...

Talk about a morning that had it all! This shoot was for one of my good friends and her family.  We transitioned from fog to blaring sun but managed to get photos of everyone!

Gracie Barra Kids - They are just too darn cute!!

The kids photo session at the local Gracie Barra was a big success...just about 40 kids showed off their best Jui Jitsu faces and poses!

I couldn't put them all up but I thought I would show off a few of these little cuties.
Their parents must be so proud - great kids learning a great sport.

The Toews Family...

Despite the damp drippy weather the Toews family were all game for trekking through the wet grass and such to get close to some old rundown brick buildings.  I have wanted to try these locations for a while now - the colour and textures looked so inviting.

I really like the brick buildings we chose but the grey train car failed to live up to my expectations...it did look ok in black and white but the red or yellow of a caboose was more what I had imagined :)

Regardless of my own textural ups and downs - we got some really neat shots of this family...scroll down and check them out :)

Hot chocolate after the chilly morning adventure

Mauricio Stacey and Boys - A Family Photo Session

Oh what a beautiful day for a photo session! My kids (who normally don't come with me!!!) were able to join me today because Stacey and I decided to mix photography and play date all into one.  The kids just love each other and were happy to play in between picture taking....So heres a few of the photos from the day - a few of the portraits and a few candids of our kids just being kids....

Cody and Betty - A Sneak Peek for the Couple

I was very excited to do the photos for this couple - they were game for anything and just so fun.
