Grad Formals For Greg...

Greg is one of those guys that always makes me smile. He's a little on the quite side but there is an easy going energy about him and a witty sense of humour if you hang around him long enough.  I was really honoured when his mom asked me to take his Grad Formals and I am so looking forward to taking him out for Senior portraits in the next few weeks.

Anyway take a peek and let me know what you think!

I can hardly wait for the next session with this guy - and I will be sure to show you how it goes!

A Sweet Session...

So more than just share the photos with you this time I thought I would also share some of the 'how this came about' moments. This little 16 month old was adorable - truly sweet.  She was happy to play and show me her special toys which was fantastic! The challenge that comes with the territory is children this age do not sit still or if they do they do not do so for long!! This makes for a pile of adorable candids but I always try to ensure to have both candids and 'frame-ables'.  I am a parent, I get it.  Sometimes you just want ONE photo of your child looking AT the camera. So I set up my equipment and just forgot the idea of a backdrop and used what was around me (a backdrop would have just cluttered the space and there was such a small chance that she would have stayed in front of it really was pointless)  I used a soft box and set it so it could swivel in the middle of the space and then used the back of the couch to drape a white sheet and also just used the black leather background that it provided on its own.  Another backdrop that we ended up using (not shown here) was the curtains! We closed one side of the curtains and voila! instant backdrop. It was a great shoot and great fun to capture such a sweet little thing.

An Impromptu Newborn Session..

Why impromptu?  This dear little bundle came to visit/meet us the other day and I just couldn't stop myself from pulling out my camera and taking a few shots - this is my niece's daughter and I will leave it at that because saying it any other way makes me sound old...and I'm not! lol
